TaiNEX Sustainability Report 2023

TaiNEX Unveils 2023 Sustainability Report, Leading the Way in Taiwan’s MICE Industry.

TaiNEX continues to lead Taiwan's exhibition industry toward sustainable development! Following the release of the nation's first-ever exhibition center sustainability report last year, TaiNEX has reaffirmed its commitment by officially launching the 2023 Sustainability Report this year. The report highlights its significant achievements and innovative breakthroughs in green operations, energy conservation, carbon reduction, and social responsibility.

Diverse Innovations Drive Exhibition Industry Recovery

In 2023, TaiNEX1 and TaiNEX2 actively expanded their venue applications, attracting a diverse range of events such as large-scale sporting events and corporate family days. Venue utilization rates reached new highs, with TaiNEX1 achieving a utilization rate of 56.94% and TaiNEX2 reaching 26.78%. The venues served over 4.52 million visitors, demonstrating the strong recovery and performance of the MICE industry. Furthermore, TaiNEX continued to lead the industry in technology applications. In August 2023, TaiNEX2 completed the construction of a dedicated 5G network on the 7th Skylight Convention Center and showcased holographic projection technology and live-streamed eye surgery at the Ophthalmology Annual Meeting, opening up more possibilities for future exhibitions and events and further raising the venue's service standard.

Energy Saving Upgrades for Green Sustainability

To sustain long-term operations, TaiNEX actively invests in energy management and energy-saving renovations. TaiNEX1, through the energy-saving subsidy program of the Bureau of Commerce, Ministry of Economic Affairs, has completed the installation of digital meters and the implementation of an energy management system(EMS), enabling precise analysis of electricity usage data. In 2024, the venue will further integrate sensors to achieve centralized energy control and optimize efficiency. TaiNEX2 has completed upgrades to the variable frequency controllers of its air conditioning units, resulting in annual savings of 175,760 kWh and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 86 tons. Additionally, regenerative braking systems have been installed in elevators, achieving energy savings of 15% to 45%, setting a benchmark for low-carbon operations.

Collective Goodwill and Sustainability Shaping the Future of the MICE Industry

In 2023, TaiNEX once again partnered with the "Little Tree Love Association" to organize the "Love Festival 2.0," which received support from over 130 companies and attracted a large number of participants. This event not only demonstrated TaiNEX's care for vulnerable groups and its sense of social responsibility but also highlighted its important role in promoting social good. The event originated from the "Love Festival " held in 2022 and was awarded the Gold Award at the "3rd Asia Pacific and Taiwan Sustainability Action Awards" in 2023, recognizing the venue's efforts in sustainable development.

TaiNEX has successfully completed the ISO 14064 Greenhouse Gas Inventory and obtained ISO 20121 Event Sustainability Management System certification. Committed to creating a safer, more comfortable, and friendly environment for exhibitors and visitors, TaiNEX will continue to promote intelligent and low-carbon processes, create more innovative opportunities, and inject new vitality and momentum into Taiwan's MICE industry.
